Keywords:
Bullying, Islamic boarding schools, holistic development, studentsAbstract
Bullying remains a pervasive issue in various educational institutions, including Islamic boarding schools, or pesantren, which hold a unique socio-religious role in shaping students’ character and morals. This study explores the types of bullying prevalent in these institutions, categorized as physical, verbal, psychological, and cyberbullying. Each form carries distinct consequences for victims, perpetrators, and the broader educational environment. Factors contributing to bullying include power dynamics, peer pressure, and lack of awareness about its psychological impact. Furthermore, the study emphasizes preventive strategies grounded in Islamic values, such as fostering empathy, reinforcing communal responsibility (ukhuwah islamiyah), and implementing structured counseling programs. By integrating religious teachings and modern psychological approaches, this research aims to cultivate a safe, respectful, and supportive atmosphere within Islamic boarding schools, ensuring holistic development for all students.
